Why join CITL?

The biggest reason for being a CITL member is our incredible community. Our members are from a wide range of charities and not-for-profits, including household-name charities, international NFPs and smaller UK-based organisations. We support CIOs, IT Directors, and technical leads, data specialists and pretty much any other technology-related role you can think of. Our community is a place to find like-minded people, knowledge and expertise, answers to problems and challenges and a supportive network of people who ‘get it’.

Being a member also gives you access to free places at our Annual Conference, all other events and content, special interest groups, our mentoring group, our members-only Teams and WhatsApp channels, our Thrive ‘Women in Leadership’ and exlusive discounts and bonus’ from suppliers.

Still not convinced? Well, think of it this way.

When a platform or service has gone down, and your CEO and Trustees are looking for answers, our network will be sharing information, fixes and solutions that will enable you to resolve the problem, look after your team, and provide the right information in a timely manner.

When you need a supplier recommendation for a business critical product or service, our network will be able to give you firsthand information about their suppliers and partners, and real examples of successful engagements, enabling you to minimise risk in a critical new relationship.

When you’re looking for a new solution, platform, product or service that the business is depending on, our network will be able to suggest and recommend, cutting through the hype and helping you to make the right decisions based on real outcomes from people who are in the same sector as you.

Whatever you need, whether you’re dealing with a crisis, looking for inspiration, or just in need of support from people who get it, the CITL community will deliver.

Membership is just £660 +VAT per year, and is organisational, meaning that you and your colleagues will enjoy access to all these benefits at no additional cost. Our WhatsApp group and exclusive members-only Teams channels provide access to a wealth of knowledge and expertise and a supportive, engaged and collaborative community of tech, digital and IT specialists from across the charity and NFP spectrum. Our events calendar offers a range of online and in-person activities, including workshops, webinars, roundtables, drop-ins and networking. We run  own events, and partner with our sponsors and sector leaders to deliver content on the topics that matter to you. We also support members in setting up and promoting their own mini-events within our Teams channels on topics including cyber security, BYOD and data.

Our resource library is constantly expanding and includes templates, thought-leadership papers, case studies and guidance documents. Special Interest Groups enable targeted and focused engagement on specific topics and areas of specialism.

All our content is driven by member-need, sector developments and the topics that will enable you and your team to develop your skills and expertise and ensure your organisation can achieve the best outcomes from your tech stack.

Annual Conference

Whether you’re a CIO, Director of IT, a technical leader, head of department or developing your skills for a future leadership role, our Annual Conference will fire your imagination, showcase the latest innovation and fill you with inspiration, as well as providing opportunities for networking and collaboration, and a chance to meet our fantastic sponsors.

Our three-day agenda is packed with case studies, workshops, panel sessions and masterclasses designed to inspire and innovate, facilitate collaborative problem-solving and create space for networking and peer-engagement. With a longer, in-depth masterclass on day three, there’s an opportunity to build essential power skills and leadership strategies, with actionable insights to take back to the office.

Often described as a ‘big group therapy session’ the conference brings together tech professionals from a wide range of charities, carefully selected suppliers, and thought-leaders and enables you to focus on your own development and hear from peers dealing with the same challenges and opportunities as you, in a relaxed, vibrant and supportive environment.

The best investment you can make for yourself, your team and your organisation

At just £660 +VAT per year membership of CITL represents excellent value for money.

Membership is for an organisation, so all of your tech, digital and IT colleagues have access to our content, events and online communities and networking at no extra cost. We don’t charge for event attendance – even Annual Conference places are included, you only pay for accommodation.

To put this into context, for a team of five, that’s just 36p per day for each team member. With most tech and digital conferences costing around £200 per delegate place, it’s clear that CITL membership is a cost-effective investment for you and your team.

Don't just take our word for it

Guide Dogs logo "As a technology leader, I’ve discovered a wealth of shared experience from peers from other charities, which is actively shared. Members reach out to the group seeking information and guidance on technology solutions, platforms or things to watch out for when embarking on new projects. There is also the opportunity to meet members face to face and virtually in the annual conference, virtual meetings and webinars through which members can share and discuss topics of interest. I strongly recommend CITL participation to any charity wanting to benefit through collaboration and knowledge sharing." - Giri Gopalan, Head of Technology Design
"CITL is the group I didn't know I needed. The shared knowledge and experiences has been invaluable for me personally and for the charity and no doubt benefits the wider sector. I would, and actively do, recommend it to others!" - Brigid MacDonald, Head of IT

It has facilitated some great connections, provided us with a brilliant annual conference, and offered all sorts of ongoing contact opportunities throughout the year.
