Connecting at our events

Building networks and making new connections is hugely important for personal and professional growth and for career development. Every new connection represents a potential source of knowledge, inspiration, and support. Networking allows the exchange of ideas, collaboration on projects, and learning from others’ experiences. CITL events are an excellent place to build and expand your network, and to connect with people who understand the challenges you and your organisation are facing, and have the skills and experiences to enable collaboration to flourish.

Many people don’t use business cards any longer, for a variety of reasons, which can make it harder to capture contact details of new connections. One way to make sure you don’t miss opportunities to build your network is to download the LinkedIn app.

Before your next CITL (or other!) event, make sure you’ve downloaded the LinkedIn app to your phone so you can have your personal LinkedIn QR code to hand and easily connect with your ‘five new friends’ at our events.

Download from Google Play or the App Store.

Pro tip: Download your LinkedIn QR code image to your phone (tap ‘Save to gallery’ under your own QR code) and set it as your phone’s temporary lock screen picture. You can now access your code quickly and allow others to connect with you on LinkedIn without even unlocking your phone!

Remember: We often live post from our events, so follow us on LinkedIn to see updates from the team. You can keep the conversation going, too, by sharing your thoughts, a photo or a video from the event – don’t forget to tag @CharityITLeaders and your new connections!
