We are recruiting for two Cloud Infrastructure Engineers to configure and operate the cloud-based infrastructure environment for the Society - covering operating systems, storage, backups, network and security components running on Google's Cloud Platform. If you have the knowledge and experience to ensure that our cloud systems are operating optimally in terms of cost, performance and availability, this may be the ideal role for you! As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, we will look to you to ensure that cloud systems are configured to best practise and are suitable, secured and monitored. An important focus of these roles will be to provide specialist guidance to colleagues in support and running of cloud systems and to provide out of hours support for critical IT systems. The roles will be hybrid working from our South East Regional Hub - (Southwater West Sussex) or our London Hub (Blackfriars), with a high focus on remote working. Trips to our hub will be for core collaboration. Here's a snapshot of some of the key work you'll be doing: * Provide technical expertise to enable the correct application of operational procedures. * Contribute to the planning and implementation of infrastructure maintenance and updates. *Implement agreed infrastructure changes and maintenance routines. *Use infrastructure management tools to determine load and performance statistics. *Configure tools and/or create scripts to automate the provisioning, testing and deployment of new and changed infrastructure. *Maintain operational procedures and checks that they are executed following agreed standards. *Investigate and enable the resolution of operational issues. Provides reports and proposals for improvement, to specialists, users and managers. *Maintain the network support process and check that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures.
