Physical Health and Wellbeing

 

We may be entering a period of lockdown, we may still be able to go outside for walks and bike rides, we may be confined to the house. With the situation changing so frequently, it’s hard to know what we can do to stay active, but what’s certain is that we need to find ways of being active and maintaining fitness. There are loads of great online resources that are free or very affordable, and some of these are listed below:

  • fitnessblender.com has a range of free workout videos including HIIT, kickboxing, pilates and yoga-based, low impact and everything in between.
  • Joe Wicks is delivering a virtual PE class every morning. Primarily aimed at children keeping active, it's also great for families as well. Check out his page on You Tube each morning: https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1/featured
  • A fun, family workout can be found on the Shogun Karate page on Facebook. Sensai Doug runs a 30 minutes workout aimed at raising the heart rate, building muscle and getting kids and parents active. Free to join at 9am every weekday, and 10am on weekends, the class can be viewed here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Shogunpracticalkarate/
