August 2016 upDATE
Our registered charitable objectives are:
“The promotion for the public benefit of the efficiency and effectiveness of charities and not-for profit organisations through the promotion of study, sharing of knowledge and advancement of the use of information technology.”
The new CRITERIA:
We have now assessed our Objectives alongside the review of our strategy and members’ services, and have concluded that by lowering our membership threshold we can better meet our objectives by being accessible and inclusive to a wider target membership.
Therefore, from 1 September our membership threshold will be amended to £10m annual revenue OR an IT expenditure of £1m* or more. Any charity that does not meet this criteria will not be eligible to join and there will be no more voting for organisations such as these.
By lowering the threshold for membership of Charity IT Leaders we will now be open to over 1,145 charities. Growing our membership base will be both beneficial to us as a group, bringing in new ideas and people, as well as helping smaller charities who have significant IT requirements access a wider pool of professional networking, support and advice.
Any charity wishing to join Charity IT leaders should apply using our Join Us page
* The definition of IT expenditure for this purpose is “Revenue costs associated with all IT provision and services in an organisation (some costs may be outside the IT department budget) and direct IT staff costs. The figure should not include capital costs.”
